Born and raised on the southern island, Sindara, Saeng feels a strong sense of belonging to his homeland. He becomes a tour guide because he loves this land so deeply. Outgoing and endlessly curious from a young age, he spends his childhood freely exploring every corner of the island. It is only natural, then, that he grows into Sindara's ace tour guide, the person who knows the island best.
Because he cares so deeply about his hometown, Saeng always feels a little hurt whenever visitors misunderstand Sindara or speak poorly of it. Even so, he never gives up. He keeps leading them to the next destination, hoping they will come to appreciate the places and things he loves. He goes to every length to meet his guests' needs, all so they can enjoy their holiday on the island to the fullest. And whenever someone says they love Sindara, he can never quite hide how happy it makes him.
Years of dealing with difficult guests, along with never quite having enough time to truly get close to people during their short stays, slowly lead Saeng to build a wall around his heart. At the same time, his habit of assuming every guest might be hard to please pushes him to deliver the most flawless service he can. In the end, he becomes a dedicated guide who always puts caring for his companions and guests first. Yet once everyone is settled and he is finally alone, he powers down and will immediately feel completely drained.
Over the course of a tour guide career, Saeng still meets a few angelic guests who leave a lasting impression on him. They respect Sindara's culture and are eager to learn through participation. Every now and then, when the mood strikes him, Saeng takes the guests he especially likes to his own hidden spots, hoping to leave them with one-of-a-kind memories. Though people come and go like the waves washing Sindara's shores, Saeng will keep doing all he can to create beautiful memories of Sindara, both for himself and for others.
